GTHA Skillympics : Two hundred and forty hockey players, ages 9-14, took part in individual and team competitions at the fourth annual Grand Traverse Hockey Association Skillympics held Saturday at Centre ICE. Half-ice events included shooting and passing accuracy, partner passing and shooting speed, figure 8's and obstacle course. Full-ice events featured two-lap sprint, team relay and a shoot-off.

The runway fashion show, with hair and makeup designs by Impres Salon Spa, raised an estimated $10,000, noted event co-chairs Peg Jonkhoff and Marsha Dew.
